Millions invested for a better environment

The Sundsvall smelter makes wide use of modern technology to reduce emissions to air and water. Over the last 20 years, emissions of polyaromatic hydrocarbons and fluorides have been substantially reduced, as have emissions of dust.

Kubal complies with the environmental requirements specified by the supervising authorities, but does not rest on its laurels: work contiues constantly to effect further improvements.

Especially during the1980s, several hundred millions Swedish kronor were invested in environmental improvements, covering both the internal and external environments. Check measurements and analyses are constantly performed in the company´s laboratory.

Kubal has a ISO 14001 certification.
